Mumbai Has Highest Number Of Transgender Students Appearing For HSC, SSC Exams

Mumbai division has the highest number of transgender students at 42, appearing under the MSBSHSE, from these 23 will appear for the SSC exam, while 19 will sit for the HSC exam.

According to the latest reports, the Mumbai division has the highest number of transgender students at 42, appearing under the Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE).

Based on accounts, from these 23 will appear for the SSC exam, while 19 will sit for the HSC exam in the Mumbai division. It has been reported that the section for transgender students was first brought into force in 2019.

Additionally, in aggregate 229 transgender students will be appearing for the MSBSHSE exams in 2022. From this, 40 will appear from Nashik, 37 from Pune and 35 from Aurangabad across Maharashtra, cited narratives.

In 2021, the Pune division had registered the highest number of transgender people at 57, appearing for the exam, in contrast to other divisions. Back in 2019, Mumbai had the highest number of transgender students at 62 in contrast to other divisions in Maharashtra, stated accounts.

On the other hand, students from Latur, Kolhapur and Konkan divisions have enrolled themselves in the third gender category.

In other developments, after a truck carrying HSC exams questions paper caught fire, exams of a few language papers that were earlier slated to be conducted on March 5 and 7 are postponed.

A notification was reportedly issued by the MSBSHSE remarked on how some exams in the general, bifocal and minimum competency vocational course (MCVC) segments were rescheduled for April 5 and 7.
