In the wake of Wednesday morning, Mumbai experienced heavy downpour which resulted in waterlogging at many places. Many trains were cancelled and waterlogging was experienced mainly in the areas of Sion, Parel, Dadar, Thane, Kanjurmarg and Byculla.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official account tweeted that as a preventive measure the schools will remain closed today and if any student is already in school he/she should be sent back home. This announcement came after IMD's warning that the city will continue to receive heavy rainfall all through the day.
In wake of IMD’s warning of heavy rainfall for the rest of the day too, the schools shall remain closed today. The Principals of the schools where students are already in, are requested to take all precautions and ensure that the children are sent back home carefully and safely.
