The Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) has postponed their examinations after a “cyber-attack” on the exam server on Tuesday.

The papers were earlier to be held on October 6 and 7. However, IDOL postponed the final-year examinations for the arts, commerce and science streams with no new dates for conducting the examinations.

However, as per reports, the dates of these examinations will be fixed soon so as not to cause any academic loss to the students. Also, those dates will be displayed on the university's website. Moreover, as a cyber-attack has been detected on the online test server, the university will file a complaint regarding the same.

The third-year B.Com and BA examinations of IDOL had earlier started from October 3. The papers for the third year BSc Computer Science, third-year BSc IT Session 6 and backlog exams for the first and second-year BA and BCom, MCA Session 1 and Session 2 examinations which were to be held on Wednesday, October 7 have been postponed.

On the other hand, the first and second-year degree examinations are touted to be held in November 2020, and all the exams are to be held online. Meanwhile, the test will be conducted based on the study material provided by IDOL and a practice test will also be held to ensure students gain the experience of attending the exams in this format.
