MMRDA All Set To Revamp Mumbai University Campus

Some of the iconic building that will go under restoration will be Ranade Bhavan, Lokmanya Tilak Bhavan and Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Bhavan which is also popularly called as Examination House.

The Mumbai University was established in 1857 and is spread across 245-acres in the Kalina Campus. Since its inception, it hasn't witnessed any significant redevelopments, however, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is all set to do major revamp of the Kalina Campus.

MMRDA has taken up this project on a priority and will further redevelop it in phases. The first phase will focus on students and will include adding more hostels, department renovation, and restoration of dilapidated and old buildings. The second phase will focus on teachers and the remaining development. 

The authorities have further stated that every new structure will have solar panels, rainwater harvesting and waste management systems installed in it. Some of the iconic building that will go under restoration will be Ranade Bhavan, Lokmanya Tilak Bhavan and Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Bhavan which is also popularly called as Examination House.
