The Department of Medical Education and Medicines has decided to conduct an audit of the security of all medical colleges in the state in the wake of beatings of doctors by patients and fire incidents in hospitals. It has been decided to audit the medical college and hospital premises, the fire protection system there as well as the hospital after the construction of the building through a third party organisation.


Medical Education Minister Girish Mahajan recently held a meeting with the principals of all medical, dental, Ayurveda and homoeopathy colleges in the state. In this meeting, the issue of security in the medical college was discussed. Security audit of all medical colleges and hospitals will be done taking note of incidents of beatings of doctors, nurses and frequent fire incidents in hospitals. Every part of the college will be surveyed and security guards will be appointed in the areas where security guards are less.

After the survey, the necessary posts of security guards will be filled immediately. Also, CCTV cameras will be installed at many important places. So that it will help to strengthen the security of medical colleges and hospitals. Similarly, fire safety in hospitals will also be inspected. In this, the fire prevention system of the hospital will be inspected. Also, there is currently a large amount of construction going on in various hospitals. After the completion of the construction, this work will be inspected by a third party organisation. This will ensure that the quality of the construction is good, informed the officials of the medical education department.
