With many educational boards such as the CBSE and CISCE conducting two board examinations this academic year that is undertaking the in-person medium for the first semester for grades 10 and 12 in the coming month, Maharashtra is looking for feedback from educational establishments regarding the conduction of the March-April SSC and HSC 2022 exams, offline, reported the Times of India.

Considering that the pandemic led to the shutting down of physical schools and exams, results in the last few months in some boards were made by the means of internal assessments. In regards to this, the CBSE, as well as the CISCE, held two exams that each covered 50% of the curriculum. With the numbers now declining, CBSE has decided to undertake in-person examinations. Additionally, the CISCE too was first set to hold an online exam, but later changed its stance to offline examinations.

Whilst the state education board hasn’t come up with a plan yet for SSC and HSC pupils, educational establishments are being spoken to decide whether the traditional examination method can be conducted the next year.

On Friday, Maharashtra school education minister Varsha Gaikwad had a discussion with academicians, virtually. Based on the report, the consensus was to conduct offline board examinations. Additionally, like the CBSE and CISCE, they also believe that the state should break the curriculum into two sections. Gaikwad is said to have apprised herself regarding the preparedness of educational establishments for an in-person examination.

Supplementary examinations for the SSC and HSC were conducted in-person in September-October by the state.
