Just like the health sector, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley reserved funds for the education sector. The Finance Minister said that around 1 lakh crore will be spent on the education sector. Jaitley said that the central government will maintain uniformity in educational standard from pre-nursery to HSC.

Will focus on digitalisation of education

Jaitley stressed on making education digitised adding that around 13 lakh teachers will be trained. He said that to train the teachers, they will take the help of digital portal Diksha.

Eklavya School

Jaitley announced that the government will set up Eklavya school in areas where there will be more than 50 per cent Adivasi population and these schools will be based on Navoday Vidyalaya Samiti school system.

24 new medical colleges and hospitals

Jaitley said that in order to improve the standard of the health sector, 24 new medical colleges and hospitals will be built on the district level. Apart from this, Prime Minister will start research fellow scheme which will help 1,000 B.Tech students to pursue Ph.D. from IIT. He added that 18 new IITs and NITs will be constructed across the country.

In order to improve the quality of education, this budget will help in strengthening the education sector. Focussing on digital education is a positive approach to the government. This will give a boost to the education and higher education of the country, and a new scheme will also be started for the students, which will benefit the students. So, this budget will give a new direction to the education sector,” Vinod Tawde, Education Minister.
