Over the last few years, Endemol India and Colors TV’s popular reality show, Bigg Boss, has garnered a huge fan base and eyeballs for many reasons. Besides Hindi, the show is currently being made in many languages, under the names of Bigg Boss Telugu, Bigg Boss Tamil, and Bigg Boss Kannada, with popular Indian stars like Jr. NTR, Kamal Haasan, and Sudeep as hosts.

But now, Mumbai Live has exclusively found out that Endemol India is currently working on a new project, Bigg Boss Marathi, which will be aired on national television for the first time. Credible sources from the production revealed that the project is in the initial stages, and the team is working on sourcing the talent and resources for the show, which may be aired between March and June 2018. Further, the episodes will be shot in Lonavala, and the show might also air on Colors Marathi.

However, it is clearly mentioned that the project is in the initial phase, and only in talks. Official announcements will be made, only after the show is confirmed and commissioned.

Back in 2013, popular Bollywood actor, Riteish Deshmukh and a state politician, Nilesh Rane, were keen on Bigg Boss Marathi, with an idea to develop a platform that brings Marathi together. As per the reports then, the duo had bought the rights from Endemol Shine India and were on a hunt for a popular Marathi channel. However, no further developments were announced regarding the same.

If everything goes as planned, we might see the popular reality show Bigg Boss, in Marathi, after the end of the current season, Bigg Boss 11. Further, it might be interesting to see if Riteish Deshmukh chooses to host the show, keeping his love for the language, people, and concept in mind.

The current season of Bigg Boss 11 on Colors TV is coming to an end, with Hina Khan, Vikas Gupta, Shilpa Shinde and Puneesh Sharma as finalists. One among these will be announced as the Bigg Boss 11 winner, this weekend on January 14, 2018.
