As per recent updates, it has been confirmed that Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor passed away in Mumbai on April 30, 2020. He was admitted at Sir HN Reliance Hospital on April 29, 2020, and his brother Randhir Kapoor mentioned that he was unwell. Rishi Kapoor’s wife Neetu Kapoor was with him at the hospital, during the treatment.

Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to share the news on April 30, 2020. He said, "He's Gone..! Rishi Kapoor..gone..just passed away..I am destroyed!"

Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and was receiving treatment in the US, where he stayed for a year, and returned to India in 2019. In February 2020, he was admitted again at a hospital in Mumbai, but he took to Twitter to confirm that he had caught an infection due to pollution.

His career in Bollywood started as a child actor when he was a part of the popular song ‘Pyaar Hua, Ikraar Hua’ from Shree 420. But his career as an adult began by playing Raj Kapoor’s younger role in Mera Naam Joker in 1970, for which he was felicitated with the National Award. His popularity grew and he became known for his romantic roles, as he was a part of 92 films, between 1973 and 2000. Between 1973 and 1981, he and his wife Neetu Kapoor, were a part of 12 films, becoming one of the most loved couples in Bollywood.

In the recent past, he has been a part of several films like Do Dooni Char, Agneepath, Kapoor and Sons, Namaste London, Love Aaj Kal, Mulk, 102 not out and many others. He was last seen in 2019 film, The Body, alongside Emraan Hashmi and Sobhita Dhulipala.

On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan passed away as well, which left the media and entertainment industry in shock. He was battling cancer and was admitted at a hospital in Mumbai due to colon infection. His friend Shootjit Sircar took to Twitter to share the news after which millions of fans shared prayers and condolences.
