Renowned actor Chadwick Boseman, who was known for his role in Hollywood film Black Panther passed away on August 28, 2020. He was 43 and was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016. 

His team took to social media to share the news, with a statement that read, "It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and battled with it these last four years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. the statement said. He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side. The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time."

Boseman gained popularity through Black Panther where he played the titular superhero. Besides this, he was also known for films like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame and Da 5 Bloods released on Netflix amidst the lockdown. His work in television shows like Law & Order, CSI: NY and ER were also appreciated. 

Many celebrities took to social media to share their condolences. Boseman's demise came across as a shock to many fans and followers worldwide.

He passed away at his home and is survived by his wife, singer Taylor Simone Ledward.
