Earlier this month, Bollywood actor, Sonu Sood’s residence and property were examined by the Income Tax Department. In light of this, the actor put out a statement on social media, mentioning that he doesn’t need to share his side of the story. He added that all the money of his foundation is sent to the needy or to save a life. He also mentioned that he requested firms to donate his endorsement fees to philanthropies.

He stated that he couldn’t assist the people for a few days since he was ministering guests, but now onwards he’s accessible to all those who require his assistance. He captioned the post saying he has the assistance and kind regards of all Indians.

Reports state that the Central Board of Taxes claim that Sood had dodged Rs 20cr tax, alleging that post the raid of the Income Tax Department on him in addition to the connected infrastructure group based in Lucknow, they supposedly established that he foiled his unexplained income employing a fake unguaranteed loan from multiple fake bodies.

Additionally, they charmed him from breaching the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) while garnering donations from abroad. The I-T Department, on September 15 checked 28 locations in Mumbai, Kanpur, Lucknow, Delhi, Jaipur and Gurgaon regarding the case against the actor and the infrastructure firm.

Reports state that the tax authority mentioned that the actor’s charity foundation, garnered Rs 18.94 cr in donations to date since April 2021, but also spent Rs 1.7cr on work. It claimed that the remaining amount is lying unused.
