On Wednesday, Shiv Sena secretary and close aid of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Milind Narvekar, was designated as a member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board, stated reports.

Some claim that the Chief Minister interacted with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and recommended Narvekar as one of the members of the most affluent temple board in India. Reports state that there are 24 members of this board.

After the appointment, Milind Narvekar showed his gratitude to Thackeray and the government of Andhra Pradesh on a Twitter post. On Thursday, he made the post that stated how he has grateful to the Andhra Pradesh government for making him one of the members of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Trust. He said that he was thankful to state chief minister Uddhav Thackeray for offering him this chance. He believes that God has opened this door for him to indulge in service and he thinks that it is his good fortune.

Chief Ministers from all the states name one person from their respective state to the board of the temple trust every two years. BJP leader and state finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar’s wife, Sapna, in 2018 was appointed to the trust board. In 2019, the state government dispensed a 650-square meter plot to the trust in Mumbai’s Bandra. The government from Andhra Pradesh too had considered given a plot to the state to make a guest house, similar to the Haj House for devotees from Maharashtra.
