Mumbai - Nifty direction, crisp dialogues and some crisp acting mark this 'different' film, The Ghazi Attack.

The film is based on the mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi in 1971. The film stars Rana Daggubati, Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni, Taapsee Pannu and Om Puri. Sankalp Reddy has picked a topic not often dealt with in Hindi cinema- while we have seen war films that depict battles fought on the ground and in the air.

This film takes the genre to a different level.Reddy has written the screenplay himself and does it credit. There are no superfluous songs to take away from the film's focus. It is not easy to depict an unfolding battle drama and mind games being played inside a naval vessel and to keep the audience riveted for the entire length of the film but reddy pulls it off well. Kay Kay was rock-solid in his role as Capt. Ranvijay Singh. Rana Daggubati delivers a mature performance as virtuous officer Arjun.

Amitabh Bachchan’s voice over at the beginning of the film sets the tone for this gripping drama.

Overall, the film is worth watching for its novel concept, treatment, and execution. It leaves you in awe of the soldiers, who lay their lives for their country.
