The idea of Mumbai Metro 3 CarShed at Kanjurmarg proposed by Hon CM Uddhav Thackerayji by integrating line 3 & line 6 is already rejected by the expert Committee set up by Hon CM himself!#MVAbetrayMumbaikars
CM Thackeray had earlier constituted an expert committee to evaluate the relocation of the metro car shed. Reacting to Thackeray's decision to shift the Metro-3 car shed from Aarey forest to Kanjurmarg, Former CM Devendra Fadnavis earlier on Sunday tweeted that the unfortunate decision will cost the state government an additional ₹4,000 crores. Moreover, Fadnavis citing the appointed panel's report stated that there is 'no feasibility in shifting'.
The Metro depot which was sanctioned in 2015, was finally started in 2019 and has now come back to ground zero - finalizing the site - Kanjurmarg, albeit incurring massive losses to the 6-year-long project which has given birth to new questions from the opposition.

The Aarey forests have been the last remaining patch of greenery in the city of Mumbai. Earlier, several activists had been battling against the felling of trees in the area. The forest is home to rich biodiversity which is being damaged as a consequence of the development projects. There are 27 tribal hamlets within Aarey Colony with nine hamlets across Force One, Film City, Veterinary College and SRPF areas.
