The temperature crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark in most places in the state on Tuesday. Murbad in Thane recorded the highest temperature of 44 degree Celsius. The temperature, which has been increasing for the past few days, recorded a new high in Thane district on Tuesday. Following 44 degree Celsius in Murbad in the district, Dhasai recorded a temperature of 43 degree Celsius. Badlapur, Kalyan, Dombivli, Mumbra, Thane, Navi Mumbai were all cities where the temperature was above 42 degrees Celsius. Due to this, a heat wave was felt in the district.


Kasarvadvali and Kalyan towns in Thane recorded 42.8 degrees Celsius, while Badlapur and Dombivali recorded 42.6 degrees Celsius. Although the coastal temperature of Mumbai is at 37 degrees, the temperature rises due to the hot winds blowing in from the sea. 


Temperatures have crossed the 40 mark across Vidarbha, Beed and Parbhani in Marathwada, and Jalgaon and Solapur in Central Maharashtra. Temperature of 39.2 was recorded in Pune city. At 14 places in the state, the maximum temperature was observed to reach forty degrees Celsius.
