These restrictions imposed by the government include the following:

  • Holi is celebrated with pomp and grandeur across Maharashtra, however, this year it should be celebrated while adhering to COVID-19 rules to ensure that crowding does not transpire.
  • Usually, during Holi, colours and water is thrown at each other. But, with the prevalence of COVID-19, the government has urged all to play the festival simply this year.
  • Similarly, on the occasion of Holi, in certain parts of Maharashtra, a procession of palanquins is taken out. This year, the local administration has been instructed to make preparations for the procession at the local temple instead of taking it to every household.
