Mumbai's first Sea Food Plaza has been launched on the seafront in Mahim Koliwada. This Sea Food Plaza was inaugurated by Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar. A tent has been arranged on the beach so that the people coming to the Sea Food Plaza can enjoy special Koli food. At this place, citizens can enjoy Koli dance along with Koli food. This is a big treat for fish-eating gourmands.
The state government has decided to develop Koliwada from the perspective of tourism. Therefore, tourists coming to see Koliwada will be able to get food and accommodation facilities there. Along with the development of Koliwadas in Mumbai, a tourist spot will be developed here. Local and foreign tourists coming here can taste the typical Koli food. Culture and tradition will also be seen. Accommodation will also be arranged here. For this purpose, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is going to implement activities on a pilot basis in Cuffe Parade, Worli and Mahim Koliwada. As the first part of it, a non-vegetarian food centre has been started in Mahim Koliwada.
Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar inaugurated the first Sea-Food Plaza to be run by the Women's Self-Association, as well as the Senior Citizen Katta in Worli. On this occasion, they relished the various foods prepared by the Koli sisters. Deepak Kesarkar said that the government is committed to make Koliwada a centre of tourism in Mumbai and various plans and projects will be implemented for its development in the coming years.
Bhoomipujan and inauguration of various works being done by the BMC from the District Development Planning Fund at Mahim Koliwada was done by Kesarkar on Thursday. On this occasion, MP Rahul Shewale, MLA Sada Saravankar, Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Ramakant Biradar, Assistant Commissioner (G North) Prashant Sapkale etc. were present.
