ISL 2018/19: Mumbai City FC sign Brazilian midfielder Rafael Bastos

Mumbai City FC recently signed midfielder Rafael Bastos for the coming Indian Super League (ISL) season. Bastos played a vital role for football club CFR Cluj during their Champions League stint. Co-incidentally, Mumbai City FC brought in Jorge Costa as their new coach, who has earlier worked with Bastos during Cluj 2012 Champions League season.

However, Bastos has been a crucial player for all his previous clubs. After playing for Cluj, he was associated with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr FC and later returned to play for Brazilian club Figueirense FC. He has also played with several star players like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Ryan Giggs.

In 2017, he was signed by Thailand’s Buriram United and helped them win the league in 2016-17. The Islanders are leaving no stone unturned and have signed several new players like Bipin Singh and Anwar Ali ahead of the 2018/19 ISL season.
