The Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) has appointed attacking midfielder Bhumika Mane as the captain of the Mumbai team that will participate in the Western India Football Association (WIFA) organized Inter-District Sub-Junior Girls’ Football Championship 2020 to be played at Palghar. Ash D’Silva has been named vice-captain of the 18-member Mumbai team.

The team is accompanied by Chief Coach Preetam Mahadik and Manager Jai Juvekar. The team was selected after an over two-week-long selection trial and training sessions at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra.

Mumbai team which reached Palghar on Tuesday will take on Nashik in a second-round match on Wednesday.

In the meantime with the inception of 2020, WIFA has ensured that football players receive proper appreciation along with sufficient number of matches. WIFA Maharashtra had previously acknowledged the achievements of their junior boys and felicitated the young Maharashtra football players for emerging champions of the AIFF Junior Under-17 National Football championship (tier-II) for the Dr B.C. Roy Trophy.
