On Monday, October 19, 106 fresh cases of the coronavirus were reported in the Mira Bhayandar area.

According to Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC), 6 people have succumbed to the disease. The recent rise in the COVID-19 cases along with the death figures have been a cause of concern for the MBMC. Even though the government is engaged in its prevention, despite this, the COVID-19 cases in the area have not declined.

So far, a total of 21,397 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Mira Bhayandar whereas 677 people have lost their lives due to this disease. With the arrival of 106 fresh COVID-19 cases in Mira Bhayandar on Monday, the figure has reached 21,397. At the same time, the death toll has reached 677. However, as many as 110 people have recovered from the disease on Monday, bringing the number of people recovered so far to 19,413.

In view of the cases of coronavirus in Maharashtra, the state government had extended the lockdown here till September 31. However, in view of the growing numbers, the state government has extended the lockdown till October 31.

On the other hand, 13,54,182 tests have been conducted in Mumbai so far. While the target is to conduct 16,000 to 20,000 tests per day, at present up to 15,000 tests are being done every day. In Mumbai, the number of patients in the B section, which basically consists of the areas of Masjid Bunder, Bhendi Bazar, Dongri and Paydhuni, is under control.
