A 14-year-old boy died of Hepatitis B and Lepto in Nair Hospital. On August 16, he was shifted from Kasturba Hospital to Nair Hospital. He was immediately treated at the hospital. But he died two days later during the treatment. Although the number of lepto and hepatitis patients in Mumbai decreased in August, this year for the first time a 14-year-old boy died of lepto and hepatitis B.

The boy, a resident of Kurla, was admitted to Kasturba Hospital as he was suffering from fever. But as his condition worsened, he was shifted to Nair Hospital. He was brought to the casualty department of Nair Hospital at 3:42 pm on August 16. At that time, doctors in Nair examined him and immediately admitted him to the NICU. His blood test and other tests were also done. In this, he tested negative for malaria and dengue. He was diagnosed with Lepto and Hepatitis B. Doctors noticed that his liver was failing due to Hepatitis B. So the doctor immediately started all the treatment on him. However, the founder of Nair Hospital, Sudhir Medhekar informed that he died at 8:30 am on August 18.
