On Thursday, August 13, 330 fresh cases of the coronavirus were recorded by the Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC). On the other hand, nine people succumbed to the disease whereas 309 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours.

The total number of patients in the KDMC area has now reached 23,547. Of these, 4,202 patients are undergoing treatment. So far 18,870 patients have been cured whereas 475 people have succumbed to the disease.

However, on August 12, the KDMC Chief Vijay Suryavanshi stated that early detection and strict quarantine has helped contain the spread of the coronavirus in these areas. In recent developments, no new cases were reported in the last 15 days in the 45 slum pockets in Kalyan-Dombivali.

As of August 12, the KDMC has conducted 8,338 antigen tests, while the medical practitioners in the city have helped the KDMC get information on around 4,300 fever cases. Of the 57,828 tests performed to date, 49,490 were reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests, and the rest were rapid antigen tests. According to sources, the civic body conducts 600-700 antigen tests daily.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Thursday, August 13, clocked 11,813 fresh cases of the coronavirus, propelling the state's COVID-19 tally to 5,60,126. Currently, there are 1,49,798 active cases in the state. With 9,115 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 3,90,958.
