Panvel logs 39 new COVID-19 cases; two deaths

Panvel reported 39 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally up to 28,045 while 52 people have completely recovered in the last 24 hours. In addition to this, two death have been registered in Panvel municipal area on Monday, January 11. In total 26,990 have recovered and discharged while the death toll in Panvel is at 614. At present, there are 441 active cases in Panvel Municipal Corporation.

Among the new cases found in Panvel municipal area are four from Panvel, two from New Panvel, five from Khanda Colony, one from Kalamboli, 15 from Kamothe, 11 from Kharghar and one from Taloja. While the recovered patients are one from Panvel, seven New Panvel, 11 from Kalamboli, 14 from Kamothe and 19 from Kharghar.

On Monday, January 11, Maharashtra recorded 2,438 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,71,552. Currently, there are 52,288 active cases in the state. With 4,286 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18,67,988.

More than 40 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 50,101. While 2,30,699 persons are under home quarantine, 2,468 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.75 per cent, and 2.54 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 12,584 new cases, 18,385 recoveries and 167 deaths taking the tally up to 1,04,79,179 on Monday, January 11. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,01,11,294 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,51,327 in the country. At present, there are 2,16,558 active cases. According to the ICMR, 18,26,52,887 samples have been tested up to January 11.
