The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) claims that it is prepared to face the third wave of coronavirus infection, which is likely to arrive soon.

Moreover, BMC said it is preparing for the worst-case scenario, and ramping up its infrastructure urgently, stocking up medicines needed for critical care, and ramping up its oxygen production, and supply network.

In a release, the civic body stated that required medical facilities -- beds at various hospitals, Jumbo Covid Centres, and Covid Care Centres are ready for the treatment of patients -- have been put in place to deal with a surge in cases.

It further mentioned that separate wards for children and pregnant women are being set up in all hospitals and medical colleges as well as Jumbo centres.
