The number of people testing positive in Maharashtra has zoomed past 50. Out of these 2 people are said to be critical. Rajesh Tope had addressed a press conference earlier in the day. In the same, the media had asked him regarding who will be born by who, Replying to the same, he said that the State Government will be bearing this cost.

The costs for treatment of Coronavirus or COVID-19 will be born under the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Health scheme.

The state government and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are taking up several precautionary measures. In order to reduce the load on Katsurba Hospital in Chinchpokli, testing centres have event started at King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital and Haffinke institute in Parel. Plans are being chalked out to convert JJ Hospital also into a testing centre. 

Apart from this, the team has also planned to prepare isolation wards in 12 private hospitals, and the list includes Jaslok, Reliance, Fortis, Lilavati and Bombay Hospital.  These private hospitals will work as per the guidelines laid down by BMC to treat COVID-19 patients. Earlier the government had ensured that a 300-bed facility is ready at Mumbai's Seven Hills Hospital.

More than a 100 beds have been arranged and kept in isolation wards at Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar, KB Bhabha Hospital in Bandra, KB Bhabha Municipal Hospital in Kurla and Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care in Jogeshwari.

Additionally, 24 health teams consisting of six members are deployed at every ward to monitor patients who may show symptoms of Coronavirus. Several teams will be deployed at the international airport and railway stations to monitor the situation around the clock.

Here's the list of quarantined locations: 

  1. Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI)-Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI) has been tasked with identifying and designating 4-5 ideal buildings as quarantine locations if required.
  2. The MCGM Centre for Municipal Capacity Building and Research (MCMCR) building at Chandivali, Powai is yet another spot being prepared for quarantine in case of an emergency.
