Coronavirus doubling rate in Thane reaches 297 days

Officials have been recording over a hundred patients on a daily basis, and at present, a total of 1293 patients are undergoing treatment for the infection. Data also suggests that over 6,000 tests are being conducted daily in Thane city.

Coronavirus cases in the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) area have been declining over the last few days and as per the reports released by the officials, the doubling rate of the cases in the municipal area has increased from 272 days to 297 days. 

Besides this, the data shows a reduction in the number of cases as well which has brought relief for the state government and the local bodies.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 recovery rate in the Thane district has reached 95 per cent, and the incidence rate has come down to 8.38 per cent. Moreover, the case fatality rate has reduced to 2.3 per cent, and the weekly growth rate has dropped to 0.27 per cent in comparison to the 0.30 per cent reported a few days back.

Currently, a total of 48,918 COVID19 patients have been identified in the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) area, out of which 46,494 patients have been cured of the infection and given a discharge. On the other hand, 1131 patients have passed away.

On the other hand, data revealed by the state health department regarding Maharashtra states that a total of 16,30,111 COVID19 patients have been discharged from different districts after complete recovery, taking the recovery rate to 92.75 per cent. The current case fatality rate is the state stands at 2.63 per cent.

Meanwhile, officials have tested more than 99-lakh laboratory samples so far, out of which 17,57,520 have been tested positive for COVID19, i.e. 17.75 per cent. Currently, more than 7.5 lakh people in the state are under home quarantine and 5,354 people are under the institutional quarantine protocols.
