A blaze of fire was reported on Monday afternoon at 12:22 PM. The fire was defined as a level two fire.
The building at which the fire broke out is situated at St Mary’s road in Mazgaon. According to reports, the fire broke out at two flats on the sixth floor of the Shirin Manzil. Four fire engines were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. While two people have been rescued by the fire brigade from the fifth floor of the building, multiple people are still known to be stranded on the seventh floor.
According to sources, thick smoke on the floors is making it difficult for the firefighting operations to take place. The fire incident has been categorised as level two. The total number of people trapped inside the building and the flats are still unknown. No casualties have been reported as of now.
