As we bid adieu to Ganpati, we are still struggling with coronavirus. Unfortunately, the number of patients suffering from the coronavirus in Borivali, Bandra (West), Kandivali, Dahisar, Goregaon, Colaba, Marine Lines and the Grant Road areas is steadily increasing.

The duration of the doubling of patients in and around Kurla in L Ward has reached 142 days. However, the number of patients in this area has been increasing since August 25. On 25th August the number of patients was 17, on 26th August 32, on 27th August 34, on 28th August 35 and on 29th August 41 new patients were found in the area.

Moreover, Khar (H-East), Bhandup (S), Dadar (G-North), Andheri (K-East), Elphinstone (G-South), Byculla (E), Sandhurst Road (B), Chembur-East (M- East), Chembur West (M-West) currently has a doubling period of more than 100 days.

Meanwhile, On August 31, Maharashtra clocked 11,852 fresh cases of the coronavirus taking the COVID-19 tally in the state to 7,92,541. Also, the positivity rate, recovery rate, and fatality rate for the coronavirus in Maharashtra stand at 19.14 per cent, 72.37 per cent, and 3.1 per cent respectively.

However, in the last 24 hours, 184 deaths were recorded. 32 from Pune, 19 each from Thane and Kolhapur, 18 from Nagpur, 11 from Jalgaon, 9 each from Navi Mumbai and Pune, 8 from Nanded, 7 from Satara, 6 from Sangli, 4 each from Solapur, Aurangabad and Latur, three each from Ulhasnagar, Ahmednagar, Nashik, Dhule, Beed and Yavatmal, two each from Palghar, Jalna and Chandrapur and one each from Kalyan-Dombivali, Vasai-Virar, Panvel, Ratnagiri, Buldhana, Washim and Gondia.
