Adolescence is a time of transition that is filled with questions and challenges, hence, Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre launched the first Adolescent Clinic in Mumbai ‘Lighthouse’ on November 11, 2017, at Hotel Taj.
Other than focusing on concerns over the physical, mental and emotional health of the young ones, the clinic will also spread awareness about body & mind changes, handling these changes and ways to communicate in case of health issues.
Across the world, there are 1.2 billion adolescents and India has 253 million people who are on the cusp - the largest population of adolescents in the world. With this dedicated thought, Jaslok Hospital & Research Center had organized a panel discussion at the launch which consisted of eminent personalities & speakers such as Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, renowned gynecologist Dr. Duru Shah, Anirudha Dutta, Author & Analyst, along with the CEO of Jaslok Hospital Dr. Tarang Gianchandani, who shed light on why adolescent health care is the need of the hour.
