The number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai and other nearby areas has been increasing exponentially. The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) announced a seven-day lockdown in the locality, and as of Saturday, June 27, 2020, the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has also announced a complete lockdown in selected containment zones, for the next few days.
As for reports, the lockdown will be implemented in 32 containment zones in Kalyan and Dombivli, where only essential services will be allowed and other activities have been restricted. Due to the increase in the coronavirus cases, officials have decided that implementing a lockdown once again will prove to be beneficial. Essential services in these areas will be open only from 9 AM To 5 PM and travel will be prohibited except for any emergency.
On Friday, June 26, 358 new cases were found from the Kalyan-Dombivli area, taking the total number of cases to 4,877. More than 300 new COVID-19 cases have been identified from the locality, over the last week. Some state that this has been observed ever since the lockdown has been relaxed.
