In order to avail services during times of emergency, more than 20 motorbikes have been added to the Motor Bike Ambulance Service, which aims to provide quick medical treatment to the patients. The inauguration ceremony was conducted in the presence of Transport Minister Divakar Rao, Education Minister Vinod Tawde and Public Health Minister Dr.Deepak Sawant, at the Mantralaya.

Under the aegis of Public Health Minister Dr.Deepak Sawant, the Motor Bike Ambulance Service was started from August 2, 2017, under 'Shiva Swasthya Yojana' and 'Emergency Medical Services'. Initially, 10 Bike Ambulances were started in Mumbai to which the 20 more ambulances have been added. These motors will be offering their services at Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Amravati, Palghar, Nandurbar.

By contacting the toll-free number 108, one can avail the Motor Bike Ambulance immediately and help the patients. There will always be a trained doctor on the bike ambulance with required medicines, respiratory treatment equipment, and other equipment.

During the first few hours of the accident, it is necessary to get first aid and these early hours are very crucial for the patient. Hence they are called the Golden Hour. In such cases, the bike ambulance service will be important to reach out to the patients promptly.

So far, 2600 people have been treated and the service will be further expanded in other parts of the state along with Mumbai.
