As part of the daily data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 394 patients tested positive for COVID-19 in the Greater Mumbai area on September 28, 2021. The number of recoveries, however, was greater than this, with 477 positive patients recovering and being discharged. With these updates, the progressive total active coronavirus patients in the city are 4611.

Six fatalities were reported on Tuesday, five of whom had comorbidities. Whilst four patients were male and two patients were female, one death was between the 40 to 60 age bracket and the remaining five was over 60 years of age.
The recovery rate and overall growth rate of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai between September 21 and 27 is 97% and 0.06% respectively. The doubling rate of the city now stands at 1200 days.
Apart from this, the trend from the past few days of active containment zones continues, with zero containment zones being reported in the city. However, there are 52 active sealed buildings in Mumbai, based on the containment measures taken on September 27, 2021.
The civic authority has time and again propagated the importance of contact tracing against the coronavirus. Similarly, in the past 24 hours, the high-risk contact tracing undertaken is at 3,036.
