On Tuesday, Mayor Kishori Pednekar stated that the third wave of coronavirus has already arrived.

Mayor Kishori Pednekar elaborated that my home, my bappa is the mantra that all must follow. She believes that "I will not go anywhere", should be adhered to. She added that the third wave isn’t coming, it is already here. Pednekar stated that since it has also been announced in Nagpur, everyone should take care. In addition to this, she requested the citizens to wear masks and be careful.

Considering that the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities are set to commence on September 10, she urged people to stay at home.

Apart from this, owing to the rise in cases in the state, on Monday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray asked the political parties to call off all religious events and rallies in Maharashtra.

Furthermore, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been undertaking measures to curtail the third wave of coronavirus. Part of their arrangements includes monitoring the availability of beds, oxygen and ventilator status in the hospital. Sources say that the civic authority has curated 24 special teams whose responsibility has been given to the Assistant Commissioner of all the wards.
