With the growing number of cases of coronavirus, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has decided to implement the 'My Family, My Responsibility' initiative for the safety of the citizens and for them to receive proper treatment with regards to the disease.

Accordingly, the Municipal Corporation has started raising awareness all over Mumbai. Meanwhile, the G/North division of Mumbai which has the highest number of patients suffering from the coronavirus has started taking special precautions by going door to door to raise awareness.

Moreover, awareness is being spread in the G/North section under Mahim section under the leadership of Dr Sachin Bansode. In addition to it, general guidelines have been issued by him with regards to protecting oneself during the pandemic. They are stated down below.

  • Everyone should cover their nose and mouth with a mask when going out of the house, in public places.
  • Wash your hands with soap or liquid soap and water and dry with a  towel.
  • Disinfect your hands with a sanitizer.
  • Wear gloves on clean hands.
  • Cover the face a nose-mouth mask. Then get out of the house.
  • Children and senior citizens should avoid leaving the house.
  • Two citizens should keep a distance of at least 6 feet from each other.
  • Touching any object or the wall should be avoided i.e. railing, wall, staircase, elevator, etc.
  • Clean your hands immediately with a sanitizer if touched.
  • Preferably hold a piece of paper in your hand and touch the objects you need with that paper. Then throw that paper in the trash.
  • Before returning home, wash your hands, feet, face and neck with water and dry them with a handkerchief or towel.
  • Avoid giving access to the Society’s premises as well as to outsiders as much as possible because of the outbreak.
  • Check the temperature of those who need to be admitted to a society or a home, if there is no fever, check the level of oxygen in the blood with an oximeter.
  • If you are in good health, enter the society only after disinfecting with a hand sanitizer and covering the nose and mouth properly with a mask.
  • At the time of entering the house, the person concerned should wash his hands and feet with soap and water.
  • If a parcel arrives, keep it in a clean place on the Society's premises or outside the home.
  • If the item is not edible, spray it with sterilizer and then take possession of the parcel.
  • Arrange at the entrance of the society to disinfect every vehicle coming and going in the society.
