30 students and a teacher test positive for COVID-19 in Palghar

In a shocking incident, a total of 30 students and a teacher from Nandore Tribal Ashram School near Palghar have tested positive for coronavirus and this has raised concerns both for the school authorities and the local civic body. 

Keeping the same in mind, the local administration immediately sealed the ashram school.

Students from classes 9-12 reported symptoms of fever, chills and cough at the ashram school, post which they were asked to undergo testing for COVID-19. As per reports, a total of nine students tested positive for coronavirus. Post this, officials examined a total of 193 students and the number has increased to 30. 

Observing the same, some students have been admitted to nearby rural hospitals for treatment, while others are being kept under the supervision of a medical team at isolation rooms set up in the school  premises.

Besides this, a few days back, 38 students and three teachers of Vinwal Ashram School at Palghar's Jawahar area were also found to be positive for coronavirus. The recently reported school is located at a distance of 12 km from Jawahar city.

COVID-19 cases in Palghar, Mumbai and other nearby areas have increased significantly. In an aim to curb the spread further, the civic body has asked people to follow the norms strictly, failing which strict action will be taken. 

A total of 46,967 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Palghar district till March 17, 2021 and currently 729 patients are undergoing treatment. So far, 45,031 patients have returned home after treatment and 1207 people have died due to the infection.
