Thane logs 254 new COVID-19 cases; three deaths on February 4

Thane reported 254 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths on Thursday, February 4, taking the total number of cases in the district up to 2,54,896. There are 3,224 active cases and 2,45,504 patients have completely recovered so far.

The death toll in Thane has now reached 6,168 in the district with three new deaths reported in the last 24 hours. While the recovery rate stands at 96.32 per cent while the mortality rate is 2.42 per cent.

On Thursday, February 4, Maharashtra recorded 2,736 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 20,36,002. Currently, there are 34,862 active cases in the state. With 5,339 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 19,48,674.

More than 46 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 51,215. While 1,78,674 persons are under home quarantine, 1,911 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 95.71 per cent, and 2.52 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 12,408 new cases, 15,853 recoveries and 120 deaths taking the tally up to 1,08,02,591 on Thursday, February 4. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,04,96,308 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,54,823 in the country. At present, there are 1,51,460 active cases. According to the ICMR, 19,99,31,591 samples have been tested up to February 4. So far, 49,59,445 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
