On Tuesday, March 29, the Bombay High Court, granted relief to the Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL), stated reports. It directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) as well as the state to not undertake any coercive action in regard to the water supply and sewerage lines in lieu of the Ghatkopar-Andheri-Versova line.

According to accounts, while the judiciary was hearing the plea by the MMOPL, they were apprised that the authorities had threatened to cut the water and sewerage lines if the property taxes due were not paid.

Based on narratives, the MMOPL sought directions for the civic authority to enforce the state’s directions issued in 2018. It also looked to quash the 19 attachment warrants. On the other hand, the BMC elaborated on how the dues have reached INR 2,500 crore and added that a certain amount should be paid first.

It has been reported that the HC didn’t stay the attachment warrants. It, however, sought answers from the state, the BMC, the K-West and K-East wards in a span of two weeks. In the next hearing, it also asked for the presence of the advocate general for assistance.

In other developments, the Mumbai Metro Line 2A and Line 7 is slated to be inaugurated on Saturday, April 2 by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray
