According to the latest reports, commuters from the western suburbs can avail of the service of a public bicycle sharing system to ensure first as well as last-mile connectivity from stations of Metro 2A and 7 that range from AareyDahisar and Dahanukarwadi.

Based on accounts, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has partnered with MYBYK which will offer nearly 10 bicycles at each Metro station in addition to increasing the fleet in lieu of the demand. The MMRDA will offer the needed space at the metro stations and a dedicated space for the repair and maintenance of the bicycles.

It has been reported that citizens can book the bicycle for 15 hours for INR 30 and for every hour extra, the charge will be INR 2 per hour. Moreover, users will also have the opportunity to hire the bike for a span of 30 days by paying INR 799.

Narratives suggest that citizens could hire GPS-enabled bicycles by using the MyByk App. The App will be able to self-guide commuters in unlocking their bicycles to make use of the service.

MMRDA commissioner SVR Srinivas was quoted in reports elaborating on how the body is working towards the first and last-mile connectivity to make Mumbai a public transport-friendly city.

Srinivas on Wednesday, June 15, inaugurated the public bicycle feeder services at Aarey metro station for metro lines 2A and 7 online.
