Pro Kabaddi League Season 5 kicked off yesterday but it wasn’t the best of starts for our local team, U Mumba. In the first Maharashtra Derby of the season, U Mumba were thoroughly outplayed by Maha-rivals, Puneri Paltan.
Puneri Paltan grabbed the win in Hyderabad with a score line of 21-33.
Deepak Niwas Hooda and his men were too much for Anup Kumar and his men at the end of the day even though Kumar grabbed 8 points in the process but couldn’t prevent his team from suffering a not-so-pleasant defeat.
Solid defence and stellar raiding led to Paltan’s victory. Hooda marked his first Super Raid of the season.
U Mumba failed to score a single point in the first five minutes of the first half and they managed to get four points in the next five minutes as they trailed 14-27 after 30 minutes.
Puneri Paltan’s defence didn’t give away any easy points to U Mumba’s raiders and swept away a 21-33 victory.
Tough start, but the #MumBoys will come back strong #OneTeamOneZid
