An eighth consecutive Super 10 from Naveen Kumar and High 5s from Corner duo Ravinder Pahal and Joginder Singh Narwal helped Dabang Delhi K.C. record an impressive 40-24 victory over U Mumba at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in Delhi on Wednesday.

With this win, Dabang Delhi K.C. became the first team in vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 7 to register three wins in their home leg.  Naveen Kumar scored a record-equaling eighth straight Super 10.

U Mumba’s defence was off the blocks quick and effected three emphatic tackles to give their side a 4-0 lead. But the home side showed just why they head the vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 7 standings and embarked on a run that reduced U Mumba down to three men. Naveen Kumar’s two-point raid left the visitors with a solitary man on the mat and Right Corner Pahal pinned the player down in the subsequent raid to inflict an All-Out and give the home side a 9-6 lead.

A 4-2 run by U Mumba helped them cut the deficit down to one. But a successful Do-or-Die raid by Meraj Sheykh, followed by skipper Joginder Narwal’s second tackle point of the night, helped the home side restore their three-point lead. U Mumba captain Fazel Atrachali responded with his second tackle point of the night.

But Joginder had the final say as his successful tackle on Arjun Deshwal in the last raid of the half ensured that Dabang Delhi K.C. went into half-time leading 14-11. Right Corner Ravinder Pahal scored eight tackle points against U Mumba.

Dabang Delhi K.C. started the second half in dominant fashion and scored four unanswered points to reduce U Mumba down to just two men. Naveen’s touchpoint on Harendra Kumar followed by Ravinder Pahal’s fifth tackle point of the night helped Dabang Delhi K.C. enforce another All-Out on U Mumba and take an eight-point lead in the contest.

Dabang Delhi K.C.’s offence and defence continued to work in tandem and soon reduced U Mumba down to three men once again. A Super Tackle each from Sandeep Narwal and Atrachali gave the visitors a glimmer of hope, but a seventh tackle point for Pahal and a 10th raid point for Naveen left U Mumba with just a couple of players on the mat.

Another tackle point from Pahal and a surrender raid from Harendra Kumar inflicted a third All-Out on U Mumba, which extended the home side’s lead to 15.

Meanwhile, substitutes Balram and Satywan added three more points to Dabang Delhi K.C.’s score before the final whistle, which confirmed a third home victory for the side from the capital.
