Although 'fitness' is the only solution to all the problems such as physical diseases that come with age, mental stress caused by jobs, business, education in today's fast-paced era, changed or bad eating habits, problems in relationships, after the coronavirus pandemic, Mumbai and nearby cities a survey has revealed that women in the city are neglecting fitness. 

According to the National Health Survey, three out of four women in India have reduced physical activity.  It has come to light that the habit of traveling from home to office by car and sitting in the same place after returning home invites fatal diseases.

Responsibilities have also increased for women in urban or rural areas. In today's daily life, women are working hard both at home and office. While managing the responsibilities of both these places, they are stressed.

This results in their Health Effects an average of 74 per cent of women who play this dual role have high blood pressure, a major risk factor for heart-related disease. As they are trapped in the cycle of job and household responsibilities, they neglect their own health. 

Due to household responsibilities, improper diet and lack of exercise, 54 per cent of women suffer from obesity. Also, due to bad diet, cholesterol increases, genetics, sedentary lifestyle and lack of exercise all increase the risk of heart disease.”

There is a misconception among many women that they do all the housework, clean the dishes, cook the meals, that means they are physically fit. 

According to the National Health Survey, fitness is not only physical activity, but physical exercise in various ways such as cycling, regular exercise, yoga, and playing tennis is necessary. Heart disease can take many other forms and can result in heart failure due to weak and damaged or stiff heart muscle, arrhythmia or an abnormal rhythm of the heart and heart valve problems. The most common symptom of heart attack is some type of pain, pressure or discomfort in the chest. However, it is important to note that it may not always be severe or even the most prominent symptom in women. If the symptoms shown by the body are not paid attention to in time, a heart attack occurs. Women often ignore some symptoms and because of this many women fall victim to heart disease, said Dr. Sanjay Tarlekar, Interventional Cardiologist from Shushrusha Superspeciality Hospital.
