Internationally Acclaimed Classical Vocalist Pt Iman Das recently released a soulful music video called “Anand Karo” on 5th July 2020, Guru Purnima. The melodious rendition, which brings together well-known faces from the music world, has been conceptualized with the aim of raising funds for underprivileged children affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. The video has already garnered an excellent response from all quarters and NGOs like Akshara Foundation and Garia Sathi have already received up to 25,000 in the first few days.

Classical vocalist Pt Iman Das hails from Bangalore, India and was honoured as 'Best Upcoming 100 artists of the World' category by WNYR New York Radio in 2018. He has written, composed, and conceived Anand Karo, which celebrates the gift of life. The unique music video musically presents everything there is to look forward to in life and represents the spirit of "Young India, Free India, New India". Young sitarist Swarnaba Gupta has arranged the song and the video editing has been done by Anand PG.

Speaking about this, Pt Iman Das, said, “It is a blessing and honour for me to be able to finally release this dream music video featuring some amazing artists from India. Music in any form has great healing powers and induces positivity. For me, Anand Karo symbolizes this and the collective consciousness of my fellow musicians in making the world a tad bit better through music. Tangibly, we hope to help children without any access to funds to continue their education due to the pandemic. All the funds will directly go to the beneficiaries. The overall message I want to send out that we can overcome the toughest of challenges when we are together and when there is a healing power like music with us.”

“It is heartening to see the response we are receiving for the song. Right from day one, the response has been positive and people have come back to tell us how the song gives a very positive and happy vibe and they could not but keep smiling through it all. This is a huge encouragement for us,” he added

The musical line-up includes inspiring artists from various genres from various parts of India. Some of them include Bollywood playback singers Dev Negi and Aditi Paul; Kannada singer, TV Anchor, and Actor, M D Pallavi; Malayalam playback singer Mridula Varrier; Carnatic vocalist and fusion artist Chandana Bala Kalyan; National Award-winning Tollywood Playback Singer, Iman Chakraborty; Female Tabla Maestro Rimpa Siva; Kathak Maestro Vishal Krishna; and Guinness book of World Record holding Mountaineer Satyarup Siddhanta.

Some notable partners associated with the mission are Garia Sathi which works very closely with autistic kids; MVF India, which works towards freeing every child from child labour and giving education, Akshara Foundation, which works for children’s right to education; and Hasiru Dala, an organization that works with waste pickers and their family.

After the pandemic, the rural public will face the biggest economic challenges, with many children unable to return to school. Anand Karo is an initiative that will enable the organizational partners to provide laptops, phones and other such support to these children. It is time that the entire nation comes forward and helps drive this cause forward, and overcome the side effects of this pandemic.
