Parel - When strong candidates are there in the fray, the race for candidature gets intense. Such a situation can be seen in ward no. 202 (old 197) where Shiv Sena’s 11 aspirants are in the race to bag party nomination from this stronghold. Of these 11 aspirants, two are considered very strong and they are former mayor and corporator of ward no. 174 Shraddha Jadhav and Rachana Agarwal. Among them, the candidature of aspirant Sharda Bane, upshakha pramukh, who has been serving the party from last 35 years seems to face difficulties. Among eight other aspirants include Vaishali Chaudhari, party’s women organizer, who has been demanding the ticket for her daughters, shakha pramukh Rajan Abitkar who has been trying for his wife, Meera Nimbalkar, Sadhana Raul, Trupti More, Seema Sansare and others. Present corporator Shweta Rane is also trying to bag the seat for herself as her ward has been reserved for males. This situation is leading to internal dissidence in the party but local Sena workers are trying to convince the aspirants to work for the party candidate so that other parties should not succeed from here. Still, many have started opposing the ticket for Shraddha Jadhav. It would be interesting to see whether Jadhav would secure her ticket from this ward or not?
