Protocol Minister Aaditya Thackeray has transferred the Assistant Resident Commissioner (Protocol) of the Maharashtra Sadan, Vijay Kayarkar after reports of him misbehaving with the band members of the Gorkha regiment emerged. It is said that upon seeing the band members eating at the Dining Hall of the Sadan, Kayarkar asked them to eat in the common area instead while also reportedly arguing with them.

Thackeray has also written to Kayarkar’s parent department asking them to suspend him while undertaking an inquiry into the matter. This is a fairly quick response from the Shiv Sena leader who also serves as the Tourism and Environment minister while holding the Protocol ministry portfolio.
