Shiv Sena's new Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will soon move to a new home which is 'Varsha'. Varsha is a spacious official residence of the state Chief Minister and is located at a picturesque Malabar Hill.  In the last five years, the Thackeray have lived in ''Matoshri'' which is situated in Bandra east and now he will be moving into a place that is earmarked to be occupied by the CM of the state.

'Varsha'' -- barely a kilometre away from the Raj Bhavan and a stone's throw off the historic Jinnah House, which was built by the founder of Pakistan, Mohammed Ali Jinnah. .Malabar Hills is a place in which finds many ministers, diplomats, leading industrialists, scientists, top civil and government officials.

It is noteworthy that Shiv Sena founder, late Balsaheb Thackeray, who is Uddhav Thackeray's father too lived in 'Matoshri'. ' For decades, ''Matoshri' has been a virtual political hub. However, keeping in mind the security arrangements that are required for CM, Uddhav will soon have to move to Varsha,

The former BJP CM Devendra Fadnavis had reportedly secured a three-month extension of stay at Varsha. He had sworn in as the CM for the second time but his government could last only  80 hours. He is said to be scouting for a suitable place around the same place to stay. This is because, his wife Amruta is employed in a senior position with a private bank, while daughter nine-year-old Divija is preparing to step into high school soon.

As per party source, Fadnavis, who is elected as the BJP Legislature Party leader, may even opt to shift to an official residence in case he becomes the Leader of Opposition.

After Fadnavis vacates this place, Rashmi Thackeray who is Uddhav Thackeray's wife will be inspecting the place and will suggest if there is any renovation, makeovers or touch-ups, she would like to give before shifting in. Post this, a suitable mahurat for shifting will be decided.
