Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has been advised surgery by the doctors, and during his medical absence, his son Amit Thackeray has taken the charge of heading the party and following the proceedings. As per reports, Raj he has also been advised rest and hence Amit will not only be meeting with party workers but also interacting with youth and students. 

As per reports, Amit has been visiting different areas of the city and talking to the students and youth to understand their concerns and attempting to solve their problems. He has been interacting with them as a part of the MNVS Sampark Abhiyan which is being run in a total of 36 assembly constituencies of MumbaiAs a part of this outreach campaign, Amit Thackeray has so far met at least 200 student groups and interacted with over 3,000 students.

Besides just paying visits, Amit Thackeray, under the direction of his father and other party leaders,  has also started taking decisions for the party. It is being said that he has decided to change seven heads and representatives of the Vidyarthi Sena. Along with this, the department heads have now been re-elected in some places. Moreover, most of the office bearers of the new department heads are at the second level of the MNVS.

Reports state that Amit Thackeray not only wants to increase the involvement of the youth in the party but also wants to give a chance to the young faces to represent and lead MNS. As of now, seven out of 15 leading members of MNVS have been changed across 15 assembly constituencies; and three members have been re-elected. The appointments for the remaining five assemblies will be made next week.

Members from the party also informed that Amit visited MNS party offices across 15 assembly constituencies of Mumbai in the last few days and also interacted with MNVS office bearers. Campaigns are being run in total 36 assembly constituencies of Mumbai and he has a long list of students to meet. Some leaders from the party also informed that ever since Amit Thackeray became the President of MNVS, the enthusiasm of MNS workers, especially the youth, has significantly increased.
