Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, has tested positive for the coronavirus. Shah, took to Twitter to let people know of the same and added that he is doing well. According to sources, Shah has been admitted to Gurugram-based Medanta Hospital.

The Union Home Minister, aged 55, had taken part in a cabinet meeting a few days ago. As per sources, extensive contact tracing will be carried out and anyone who came in contact with the minister will have to self-isolate.

Last week, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan tested positive for the coronavirus. He has been in the hospital for nine days and tweeted today to inform that he was doing well.

Meanwhile, as per reports, Delhi recorded 961 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus on Sunday taking the infection tally to over 1.37 lakh, while the death toll mounted to 4,004. As many as 1,23,317 patients have recovered from the disease, while the number of active cases stood at 10,356.

However, fifteen people succumbed to the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 4,004. The infection tally stood at 1,37,677.

On the other hand, a total of 4,289 RT-PCR and 8,441 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in order to detect cases of COVID-19 efficiently.
