Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday attacked senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut while demanding a public apology over his remarks against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Udyanraje Bhosale.

Udyanraje Bhosale, who hails from Satara in Maharashtra, is the 13th descendant of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Earlier, Raut had demanded proof of his lineage that he is the descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Reacting to this, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra legislative assembly, Devendra Fadnavis said that the kind of remarks made by Sanjay Raut about Udyanraje is something that even the Mughals wouldn’t have thought about the same.

The kind of statements Sanjay Raut has made against Udyanraje Bhosale and the descendants of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is something that even Mughals wouldn’t have thought of if they were alive,” said Fadnavis.

The BJP leader further stated that the ego of power is not right while demanding that Raut should tender a public apology.
