BJP leader Nilesh Rane, on Tuesday, November 25, 2020, claimed that many Shiv Sena MLAs, MPs and ministers in Thane are involved in corruption,  financial malpractices and illegal business in the black market. The statement was made after the Enforcement Directorate (ED)  raided the Shiv Sena spokesperson and MLA Pratap Saranaik's house and office on Tuesday, November 24. The team then arrested Saranaik's son Vihang Saranaik for money laundering and will be further questioning him regarding the case. 

This event has stirred conversations in the political circles since Tuesday morning, whereby Shiv Sena and BJP are now involved in strong allegations.

Sharing his thought on a news channel, Nilesh Rane claimed that he is aware of several such activities involving leaders of Shiv Sena political from Thane, and said that the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) is an institution of corruption where many malpractices and related activities are performed. Rane also stated that the members of the Sena are related to construction projects in Thane district and nearby cities and people of Thane are well aware of the deep-rooted corruption and the ways Shiv Sena leaders in Thane conduct their affairs. He claimed that the party MLAs, MPs and ministers are involved in corruption, financial malpractices and businesses run in the black market.

Rane added that the ED is a government agency and works not because of what a person or a party thinks. This arrest and investigation have been conducted since they have received some strong information and if this is proven true, officials should take strict action regarding the same. Meanwhile, if Pratap Saranaik believes he has not done anything wrong, then there is no reason for him to be scared.

Adding more to this, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya welcomed the action stating that if there are anonymous management, bogus companies and corruption involved in this, officials should take appropriate action.
