Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray recently instructed his office-bearers and workers to prepare and get ready to contest the upcoming Gram Panchayat elections in the state. The decision was taken recently by the party chief, and as per speculations, the announcement was made after the political circle started talking about the BJP-MNS alliance in the local body elections. It is said that BJP state president Chandrakant Patil has also given important advice on what Raj Thackeray should do to increase the party's power.

Keeping the elections in mind, all office bearers of MNS have been asked to field their candidates across all the Gram Panchayats in their area and elect them with full force. Strict guidelines have been given by Raj Thackeray in this matter.

Speaking to the media regarding this, Chandrakant Patil said that If Raj Thackeray wants to expand the party's reach and strengthen the organization, he should travel all over the state. He should walk around the corners, interact with the people, realize and build the strength. Adding more he stated that fighting every election also gives one an idea of how much support and response the party can get.

Addressing the speculations, he mentioned that one can guess how much influence MNS will have in the municipal elections. But it is not possible to gauge the influence in the Gram Panchayat elections. Therefore, it is clear that BJP will not form an alliance with MNS this time. However, the BJP will fight this election with full vigour and a meeting of MLAs was held recently, where important suggestions have been made in terms of election strategy.
